Now a days, lots of students are interested are interested in astronomy but dont’t have telescope at home. Many of them likes to observe stars galaxies and planets of the solar system in the night sky. As telescopes are very much costly, many of them cannot afford it. So, we have taken a solution for you with how to make a Telescope at home.
Tutorial about how to make a telescope at home:
At first you have to know that we are talking about a simple refracting telescope at home. The telescope would not be strong enough to observe any distant interstellar object. But you can have better views than the naked eyes with this refracting telescope at home..
How the telescope illustrates the light of a particular object?

At first you should know about the theory of the telescope about how it works.
Theory of the telescope
In a telescope, the lens held next to your eye is called the eyepiece and is usually a short focal length lens or a combination of lenses though. The lens at the other end of the telescope is called the objective lens. Light from a distant object is focused by the objective lens to form an image in front of the eyepiece. The eyepiece acts as a magnifier and enlarges that image and helps you find that object more clearer. The magnification of the telescope can be found by dividing the focal length of the objective by the focal length of the eyepiece.
Which Materials need to make a simple refracting telescope?
- Two converging lenses (convex lenses)
- telescoping tubes (mailing tubes)
- manila file folder
- scissors
- knife or saw
- glue
- 1 white poster board
- red and black tape

Follow those steps in the picture and set up the materials as indicated there. You just made a refracting telescope at home. After setting up the materials, Test the telescope. Is it working properly? If yes, then You can share it to your friends who are interested about observing the night sky.
